Rules & Regulations

On April 14, 2009, the SEHA Executive Board unanimously voted that the SEHA Medal Classes may run with at least 2 exhibitors. To fill a class at least 2 exhibitors must complete the course. Ten points are required to qualify for the class.

All existing rules still apply for the Medal classes.

The points will go as follows:

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Life, Senior active and Junior active Members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions. Combined Training/Eventing Competitions at the preliminary level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Intermediate level or above, Dressage and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides provided the respective Breed/Discipline dues or Breed/Discipline Category Fee has been paid. A non-member may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Combined Training/Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of $20 non-member Registration Fee and a $5 Breed/Discipline Category Fee for each Breed/Discipline. Participants in the following classes are exempt from the requirements of this rule: 1) Leadline; 2) Exhibitions; 3) Games and Races; 4) Classes for 4H members; 5) Walk Trot and Academy classes (Academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesion program); 6) USDF Introductory Level Tests, Pas De Deux and Quadrille Classes. Also Exempted from this requirement are residents of other nations who are members in good standing of their National Federation; and 7) Assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding Classes; and 8) Citizens of other nations who are members in good standing of their National Federations and, in the case of riders, drivers or vaulters competing in disciplines recognized by the FEI, in possession of a foreign competitor’s license to compete in National Competitions, which has been issued by the Federation. (See Article 807.4 of the Federation rules)

2. Judges decisions are final.

3. The Committee reserves the right to decline any entry, and to cancel, combine, or divide classes when deemed necessary to facilitate the smooth running of the show. However, no “B” Rated division will be canceled if there are 4 or more entries.

4. Courses will consist of post and rails, walls, gates, pickets and brush.

5. A trophy, championship and reserve ribbons will be awarded in all divisions. Champion and reserve will be awarded to 2 of the 6 horses which have acquired the most points in the over fences classes in their division. In addition to these points, only those horses shall receive full points for ribbons won in the under saddle classes. Points to be awarded through the first 6 places: 10, 6, 4, 2, 1, ½.

6. A trophy and/or cash prize and 6 ribbons will be awarded in all classes unless otherwise stated.

7. Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF rule book will be conducted and judged in accordance therein.

8. Any horse entered and not exhibited shall forfeit fees, unless the committee is presented with a veterinary certificate or in equitation classes only, a statement issued by the official medical service of the show. There will be a $50.00 fee for entries unpaid at the end of the show; and a service charge of $50 for each returned check.

9. Prize Money will be deducted from the entry fees.

10. To be eligible for any stake class, entrants must have shown in the qualifying class over fences in that division

11. Schooling will be permitted in authorized areas only. Anyone found violating these rules shall forfeit all entry fees and not be allowed to show.

12. Courses and jumping order will be posted at the ingate all day.

13. The committee reserves the right to not delay classes due to conflicts and to not allow substitutions of classes or horses.

14. No exhibitor or person shall approach a Judge as to a decision or other matters unless he first obtains permission from the show steward. Any exhibitor or person disregarding this rule may be asked to cancel all entries and forfeit entry fees.

15. All cards and an open check must be presented to the show secretary before numbers will be given out.

16. Post entries will be accepted but there will be a post entry fee the day of the show.

17. All riders must wear USEF approved headgear any where on the show grounds and must have harnesses securely fastened.

18. All dogs must be leashed while on the show grounds.
